Learn how to ensure the Cometly Pixel is capturing form field data for embedded HubSpot Marketing Forms.

Updated over a week ago

šŸ‘‹ Start Here

Integrating HubSpot marketing forms with Cometly enables seamless tracking of form submissions. The Cometly pixel automatically captures essential informationā€”such as the prospect's email, first name, last name, and phone numberā€”when they submit a form. This integration provides valuable insights into the customer journey by connecting the submitted data to its originating source.

Important: This setup will only work for embedded HubSpot lead capture marketing forms. This will not work for embedded meeting links where a prospect can schedule.

Step 1: Install & Verify Cometly Pixel On Your Web Pages

First step is to ensure you have the Cometly Pixel installed on your web pages where the HubSpot Marketing Forms are located.

If you have not yet installed and verified the Cometly Pixel, please see the guide below:

Step 2: Test Form Tracking

There are different types of HubSpot Forms. You first want to navigate to Space Setup > Form Tracking in the Cometly app and test the page URL to see if your HubSpot Marketing Forms are tracking.

If your forms are tracking, you do not need to continue with the following steps.

Step 3: Retrieve the HubSpot form embedded code and convert the code in Cometly

Login to HubSpot

On the top menu bar, click Marketing > Lead Capture > Forms

Find the HubSpot form you want to track, and click edit.

Click Share on the form page in HubSpot and then click Embed Code

In Cometly, navigate to Events Manager click the Add Events button. It will take you to the Add Events page.

Search the integrations/apps for HubSpot Marketing Forms and select the integration. Click Next after you have made the selection.

Copy the HubSpot form code and paste into Cometly HubSpot form code converter.

After pasting the embedded code, click Convert Marketing Form Code

Click Copy Code after it has been converted

Paste the converted code into the html embed on your landing page, this will be replacing the existing HubSpot form code that you previously had on your landing page. You should only have the Converted Marketing Form Code, not the original code from HubSpot. By using the converted code, it will ensure the Cometly Pixel is automatically capturing form field data for email, first name, last name, and phone number.

Step 4: Re-Test Form Tracking

You first want to navigate to Space Setup > Form Tracking in the Cometly app and test the page URL to see if your HubSpot Marketing Forms are tracking.

If your test was successful, you can continue to the next step in the setup!
