HubSpot Form Tracking (New Forms)

Learn how to automatically track new HubSpot forms with Cometly.

Updated this week

πŸ‘‹ Start Here

HubSpot offers two types of forms:

  1. Legacy Forms (built with the old editor)

  2. New Forms (built with the updated editor). Set up your integration based on the type of form you're using.

This article is for New Forms (the latest version of HubSpot forms). If you are using Legacy HubSpot forms (also known as Form Editor Legacy), please follow the help article below.

Important: This setup will only work for NEW (not legacy) embedded HubSpot lead capture marketing forms. This will not work for embedded meeting links where a prospect can schedule.

Step 1: Install & Verify Cometly Pixel On Your Web Pages

First step is to ensure you have the Cometly Pixel installed on your web pages where the HubSpot Marketing Forms are located.

If you have not yet installed and verified the Cometly Pixel, please see the guide below:

Step 2: Add Hidden Field To Your HubSpot Form

Click the + sign in the top left to add a new field to your HubSpot form.

Add (drag on to your form above your form button) a Single-line text form field to your HubSpot form.

Click Create New Property

For the Property label, enter exactly as below:

comet_token

  • Ensure the Object type is set to Contact

  • Ensure the Group is set to Contact information

Click Create

After it's created ensure the comet_token is the connected property to the Single-line text form field.

Scroll to the bottom and set the comet_token form field to Hidden.

  • Do not set as a required field.

Save changes by clicking Review & Update.

Step 3: Map the comet_token in Your HubSpot Events

When sending events from HubSpot to Cometly, make sure the Comet Token field is correctly mapped to the comet_token property in HubSpot. This ensures accurate tracking and proper attribution within Cometly.
