When you add the Cometly WooCommerce plugin to your store, the plugin will automatically install the Cometly base code pixel, add to cart & initiate checkout events, and install a webhook that will automatically send server purchase events to Cometly.
Important: Please read all important pointers below prior to installing the Cometly WooCommerce plugin on your store.
Here are a few very important items to note prior to installing the Cometly WooCommerce plugin:
When setting up your Cometly space, DO NOT install the Cometly Base Pixel on any pages directly related to your WooCommerce store site or place any of the following code snippets on your store site or any associated WordPress pages:
add to cart
initiate checkout
purchase
The WooCommerce plugin automatically installs the add to cart, initiate checkout, and purchase events.
The WooCommerce plugin WILL NOT install the Cometly Base Pixel on any non-WordPress landing pages. You will want ensure that you manually install the base pixel on any of those pages.
The WooCommerce plugin is specific to a workspace. If you have multiple stores / multiple Cometly workspaces, please ensure that you are aware that each Cometly workspace has a DIFFERENT WooCommerce plugin. A Cometly WooCommerce plugin will install the pixel specific to that workspace and the purchase webhook specific to that workspace.
Step 1: Download the Cometly WooCommerce plugin
In your Cometly account, navigate to the Integrations page in your Cometly space.
Select WooCommerce as your integration
Activate WooCommerce
Download the Cometly WooCommerce plugin.
If you have previously set up Cometly with an older plugin version or manually installed the Cometly Pixel, remove before adding the plugin.
Important Notice: The plugin is specific to your Cometly space and will automatically install the Cometly Pixel, Add To Cart & Initiate Checkout events, and webhooks to send purchases to our server into your store. If you have multiple stores, please make sure you download the plugin from the correct space.
Navigate to your WooCommerce store, and go to Plugins
Click Add New
Upload the Cometly WooCommerce plugin
Step 2: Clear Cache on your WooCommerce Store
As a WooCommerce store owner, you are most likely aware that Wordpress sites can have caching issues. Please make sure to clear your cache after you have installed the plugin to ensure tracking pixel accuracy.
If you use WP Rocket, please follow the instructions below.
If you use WP Rocket, you need to navigate to your WP Rocket settings to ensure you have unchecked specific settings.

In your WP Rocket settings, please navigate to FILE OPTIMIZATION
Scroll down to JavaScript Files and ensure that all of the following check boxes are UNCHECKED. Do not check these checkboxes or it will cause the Cometly pixel not to load properly.
