How To Setup Maxweb Integration

Learn how to setup the Maxweb integration to track purchases back to the correct ads.

Important:

  1. Space Type: You need to use a Comet Events space type in order to use the Maxweb integration. You may need to create a new space outlined in the instructions below.

  2. Connected Ad Account: If you want to use an ad account connected to another space, you will have to disconnect the ad account from the space and connect to your new Events space.

Step 1: Add the Cometly Maxweb script to your landing page

First, you need to insert the script below in your landing page. Make sure to place it just before the </body> tag to ensure that it gets loaded properly.

If you are using ClickFunnels for your landing page, while in the editor for the funnel step, click 'Settings' > 'Tracking Code'.

Add the script below to the </> FOOTER CODE section:

Step 2: Add the Maxweb offer URL to your landing page

You can link any buttons or images on your landing page

Setup Steps:

  1. Get your Maxweb offer URL from your Maxweb account.

  2. Add your unique offer URL to any buttons on your landing page.

* the example below shows the Maxweb offer URL on the button and the image.

Step 3: Add the Cometly Postback URL to Maxweb

In this step you are going to retrieve the Maxweb Postback URL from within your Cometly account and add to your Maxweb account.

Instructions

Important:

  1. You need to use a Comet Events space type in order to use the Maxweb integration. You may need to create a new space outlined in the instructions below.

  2. If you want to use an ad account connected to another space, you will have to disconnect the ad account from the space and connect to your new Events space.

  1. Login to your Cometly account and navigate to your Events space. If you do not have an Events space, please create a new space:

  2. If you already have an Events space already you can skip this step. If you do not have an Events space, after you click 'Create Space', configure your timezone and currency, and choose 'Comet Events' for your space type:

  3. Navigate to the Integrations page in Space Settings and choose Maxweb as your integration:

  4. Click Activate Maxweb

  5. Copy the Postback URL

  6. Login to your Maxweb account and click your profile in the top right, then click 'Postback Pixels'.

  7. On the postback Pixels page, click 'Add new' and paste the the Postback URL, click 'Save'.

Step 4: Add UTM parameters to your ads

The following UTM parameters are required for tracking Maxweb purchases with Cometly:

Meta

Add the following UTM parameters to your Website URL:

c_ad_id={{ad.id}}&c_source=facebook

Your Website URL in Meta should look like this:

https://www.yoursite.com/lander?c_ad_id={{ad.id}}&c_source=facebook

TikTok

Add the following UTM parameters to your Website URL:

c_ad_id=__CID__&c_source=tiktok

Your Website URL in TikTok should look like this:

https://www.yoursite.com/lander?c_ad_id=__CID__&c_source=tiktok

Google

Cometly needs the following UTM parameter code attached to the end of every Website URL in the 'Tracking Template' section of each of your regular Google ad campaigns that are not Smart Campaigns:

{lpurl}?c_source=google&c_ad_id={creative}

To set these up inside the Google Ads manager, navigate to Settings > Campaign Settings and select the campaigns that you want to track with Cometly. Then click Edit > Change tracking templates.

Then you should see a box labeled New tracking template and this is where you will need to place the UTM parameters listed above.

Once those parameters have been pasted, you can click "Apply" to apply those changes.
