Whop Ads Integration

Learn how to connect Whop Ads to Cometly to track your ad spend, campaigns, and revenue.

Connecting Whop Ads to Cometly lets you track your Whop ad spend, campaigns, purchases, and ROAS alongside your other ad platforms. Once connected, Cometly pulls in your campaigns, ad groups, and ads with daily performance data, and attributes revenue back to the ads that drove it.

Setting up this integration takes two parts:

  1. Connecting your Whop account inside Cometly (signing in and choosing which ad accounts to track)

  2. Authorizing the Cometly app inside Whop (this is what gives Cometly permission to read your ad data)

Both parts are required. The second one is the step people most often miss, and it can only be done inside Whop.

How to Connect Whop Ads

Step 1: Sign in with Whop

  1. In Cometly, go to Integrations and find Whop Ads under Ad Platforms

  2. Click Sign in with Whop. A Whop window opens.

  3. Sign in to Whop and approve the connection

When the window closes, your Whop profile is connected and Cometly lists the whops (companies) you have access to.

Step 2: Connect Your Ad Accounts

Each whop you run ads for appears as an ad account in the Whop Ads panel.

  1. Find the whop you want to track and click Connect & Sync Data

  2. Choose the Cometly space it should report into

💡 Tip: A whop can be connected to one space per team. If you run ads for several whops, connect each one.

Step 3: Authorize the Cometly App in Whop

Cometly reads ad data through Whop's app system, so a whop owner or admin has to approve the Cometly app on each connected whop. Cometly checks this automatically the moment you connect an account.

If the app is already authorized, you're done. Your first data sync starts immediately.

If it isn't, you'll see an Authorization Needed badge next to the account and a dialog with instructions. To authorize:

  1. Click Fix next to the account, then click Open Whop in the dialog

  2. Sign in to Whop as an owner or admin of the whop. Only owners and admins can approve apps.

  3. On the "Choose a whop to install this app into" screen, find the whop that matches the ad account you connected in Cometly and click Add

  4. Approve the requested permissions

  5. If you connected more than one whop, repeat this for each one. Every whop needs its own approval.

  6. Back in Cometly, click Check Authorization in the dialog. If the approval went through, the badge flips to Connected and your first sync starts right away.

⚠️ Important: Clicking Resync or reconnecting your Whop profile in Cometly does not grant this approval. It has to be done inside Whop.

What to Expect After Connecting

Your first sync starts as soon as the account is connected and authorized. After that, Cometly refreshes Whop ad data every 30 minutes and automatically backfills the last two days each morning, so late-arriving changes are captured. If you need history older than that, contact Cometly support.

Your Whop campaigns, ad groups, and ads appear in the Ads Manager along with spend and performance, and revenue from tracked purchases is attributed back to your Whop ads. New campaigns you launch are picked up automatically when your space has track new campaigns enabled.

Troubleshooting

Whop shows "Unable to create app authorization. We are working on it."

This error comes from Whop itself. Their system failed to create the approval, and only Whop can resolve it. Contact Whop support, mention the Cometly app and the name of your whop, and ask them to fix the app authorization. Once they confirm it's resolved, repeat the authorization steps and click Check Authorization in Cometly.

You approved the app, but Cometly still says "Authorization Needed"

Double-check that you approved the app on the exact whop that matches the ad account in Cometly. Whops often have similar names (for example "My Brand" and "My Brand #2"), and an approval on one whop does not cover the others. After approving the right one, click Check Authorization again.

The "stopped receiving Whop ad data" alert keeps coming back

That alert repeats as long as Whop is blocking Cometly's access. It stops on its own after the first successful sync following the approval.

No spend showing yet after connecting

If the account shows Connected, give the first sync a few minutes and note that data refreshes on a 30-minute cycle. If the account shows Authorization Needed, complete Step 3 above. No data can sync until the app is authorized.
