How to Edit or Delete Conversions in Customer Journeys

Learn how to edit or delete conversions in Cometly customer journeys.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You can quickly edit or remove conversions directly from the Customer Journey timeline in Cometly. This helps you correct mistakes, update integrations, or clean up test data.

Accurate conversion data keeps your attribution, Ads Manager, and reports clean.
If a conversion was triggered incorrectly or mapped to the wrong integration, you can fix it in seconds without disrupting the rest of the journey.

Step 1: Open the Customer Journey

  1. Go to Contacts inside your Cometly account.

  2. Click on the contact you want to review.

  3. Open their Customer Journey timeline.

You’ll see a list of events such as:

  • Form Submission

  • Lead

  • Demo Submission

  • Purchase

  • And more

Step 2: Locate the Conversion Event

Find the specific conversion you want to modify.

Each event in the timeline has a three-dot menu (⋮) on the right-hand side.

See example below.

Step 3: Click the Three Dots (⋮)

  1. Click the three dots next to the conversion.

  2. A dropdown will appear with:

    • Edit

    • Delete

Step 4: Edit a Conversion

Click Edit if you need to:

  • Change the event name

  • Update the integration

  • Adjust event details

  • Correct incorrect values

After making your changes:

  1. Click Save

  2. The conversion will update immediately in the customer journey and attribution reports

💡 Pro Tip: Editing a conversion updates reporting data going forward. If you're correcting a live integration issue, also fix the source integration to prevent future incorrect events.

Step 5: Delete a Conversion

Click Delete if:

  • It was test data

  • It was triggered accidentally

  • It’s a duplicate event

  • It should not be counted in attribution

After confirming deletion:

  • The event is permanently removed

  • It will no longer count toward attribution or reporting

⚠️ Note: Deleting a conversion cannot be undone.
