Watch the video below for instructions on how to install the Comet Pixel and setup events on your website.
Step 1: Install the Pixel Code on your website
To use the Comet Pixel standard events, you must first install pixel code on every page of your website. This code sends site visits back to Cometly so you can measure customer actions and create smarter advertising!
Add the pixel code to your site so that it loads on each webpage. This is typically done by adding it to the global header of your website.
Locate the header code for your website and copy/paste the Comet base code just above the </head> tag.
Step 2: Add your Events
A) Select the event categories that are meaningful to your business and choose how you'd like to track them.
B) Turn "ON" the events that you would wish to track on your website and Copy the event code to your clipboard
C) Place the event code on your form completion page by adding the event code just above the </body> tag. This allows the event code to load along with the pixel code when the page loads.
Step 3: Check Pixel Status
Check the status of your event by triggering the event on your live webpage. You can view the status of the event inside the Tracking Setup page.
If your status is shown as Active, the event has been successfully added. Note that this process may take several minutes.
